Neofect Connect
Product
Neofect Connect is a behavior change app focused on recovery and wellness after stroke.
How I helped
Content Strategy
I created a stroke rehabilitation algorithm to ensure the appropriate exercises and recommendations were customized to the users ability level.
Content Design
My approach to content is combining clinical research with user research. What does the person need? What does the evidence say? How might we deliver clinically proven rehab concepts into everyday life?
Three types of content:
Educational and supportive materials for increased health literacy.
Musculoskeletal exercises to maintain range of motion and increase strength.
Activity content customized to the ability level for maximizing participation in everyday activities (the key to health and happiness).
Voice and Tone
My approach to the development of voice and tone for Neofect Connect is based on years of patient care and behavioral science. I wanted it to sound like they had an empathetic and friendly expert in their pocket.
Daily Readings
The app provided daily motivational and educational readings. Here is sample copy I wrote using the voice and tone guidelines. You can read more examples in Health Writing.
UX Writing
Collaborated with designers and product managers in Korea to align goals.
Edited existing copy to ensure comprehension for the US market.
Created new copy for clarity and tone.
Engaging details
Small details can make big differences. To engage game users I changed “Single”, “Double”, “Triple” to “Ultimate Champion”, “Hall of Fame”, and “Legend”. Our users loved getting stars and achievements.
Call to Action
Edited the call to action from “Try our free 14-day trial” to “Start my free 14-day trial”, shifting the focus on the user increases conversion rates and “start” is one of the most effective CTA verbs.
Clear Language
The original copy starts with a negative assumption “most strokes start with unhealthy habits”. Behavioral science indicates that shame-based approaches are not only ineffective, but detrimental.
I also wanted to simplify the language to be approachable.
